Lynfa grew up on a dairy farm in the Cotswolds and graduated from Aberystwyth University with an honours degree in Agriculture. She worked as a research technician at the Centre for Dairy Research at Reading University for three years before moving back to Aberystwyth to work for the Institute for Grassland and Environmental Research in their ruminant metabolism unit. She then moved to work for Hybu Cig Cymru (Meat Promotion Wales) for nearly 10 years where she was responsible for their R&D portfolio and held a particular interest in animal health issues. Lynfa now works for the Farming Connect programme in Wales as a Knowledge Exchange Manager where her focus is the establishment of on-farm projects to drive the uptake of new technologies and innovations on farms across Wales. Outside of work Lynfa has many interests including beekeeping. She currently has 10 hives and as well as continually improving her own knowledge she also teaches new beekeepers how to look after their bees.
