Lorraine grew up on a family farm in Dumfrieshire and has been farming hill sheep for the past 24 years at Sundhope near Hawick, and for 13 years at Glendinning and Megdale near Langholm. The three units carry 2900 couth country cheviot and Blackface ewes. The farms are run along traditional lines but with a strong emphasis on flock health and disease prevention. Lorraine is a member of NFU Scotland and past Chairman of Langholm branch, as well as being a member of the National Sheep Association. Her other interests include ornithology, botany and Scottish pastoral history.
