Moredun Scientific Management Team
John became Managing Director of Moredun Scientific in 2014. He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1984 with a BSc in Agricultural Chemistry and then took a position at the Moredun Research Institute in Edinburgh working on bovine/ovine respiratory vaccines prior to moving to Moredun Scientific. He has significant experience in working with the global Animal Health Industry and has led the set up and development of the Moredun Scientific biosafety business.
David heads the Animal Health division at Moredun Scientific. He has been with the company for nearly 20 years and is an expert in the design and delivery of efficacy and safety studies for veterinary vaccines and therapeutics. He has worked with a broad range of pathogen types across all livestock species and has considerable experience in the validation of new disease models. He has a BSc in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Biotechnology from Heriot Watt University.
John has over 30 years of experience in the life science industry covering the fields of Molecular biology, Medical devices, Pharmaceuticals and Contract Research. He has successfully designed, implemented and managed GXP quality management systems including GMP/GLP, ISO 9000, UKAS 17025 and Medical devices ISO 13485. He has worked in global organisations in the UK and China including Life Technologies and Dechra Pharmaceuticals. John is experienced in Total Quality Management and Lean Management and has coordinated the commissioning of new sites with emphasis on equipment and process validation including sterilisers and clean rooms. He is also an IRCA IQA Lead auditor.
Rhona leads marketing and business development activities for Moredun Scientific. She has more than 20 years of commercial experience in the life sciences and animal health industries. Prior to joining the company she worked for GE Healthcare where her roles included leading teams in strategic marketing, European sales and marketing communications. She holds a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Edinburgh and a post graduate diploma in Marketing.
Bill Roy is Head of Aquaculture at Moredun Scientific, responsible for the development and delivery of commercial projects on farmed fish health and welfare. He has a PhD in aquaculture from the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, and more than 25 years of experience in aquaculture R&D, leading studies to identify, evaluate and support registration of fish vaccines, veterinary medicines and feed additives in the UK, European Union, Norway, United States and Chile. Before joining Moredun Scientific, Bill was employed by the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, as Deputy Director responsible for the Institute’s Marine Environmental Research Laboratory.
