Moredun embarks on new education initiative

Moredun is delighted to announce the launch of Science Sparks, a new initiative to help support and encourage primary school teachers and their pupils to explore the relevance of science to the world around them.

Funded by the Scottish Government and working with the Bright Business Partnership, we aim to establish the sustainable incorporation of specialist science input into the Curriculum for Excellence by bringing together scientists, teachers and the business community to deliver a collaborative, innovative and educational resource.

This inspiring pilot programme is aimed at P7 pupils in four areas of Scotland (Scottish Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, Midlothian and Fife) and will cover a range of topics including renewable and alternative energy, climate change, conserving biodiversity and health and wellbeing.

If you are interested in getting involved in this new project in any way please contact Joanne Watts for more information on 0131 445 5111 or email education@moredun.org.uk
