Rodent Antibody Production Tests

Mouse, Hamster and Rat Antibody Production TestsVirus antibody-free rodents are inoculated by multiple routes with the test sample and observed over a 28 day period. Serum samples are analysed for the detection of antibodies to a panel of viruses by the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

The haemagglutination inhibition (HAI) and indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) assays are used as alternative confirmatory tests if required. A positive test indicates that the test sample has been exposed to the virus.
